Internet of Coins Update #34 - The long and winding road

26 Feb 2018 / CodaSiren

Our Telegram channel is booming!

Last newsletter, we announced that we have joined the Telegram community. Since then, 120+ members joined, adding the total number up to 200 members in the channel. If you haven't yet: join the conversation here!

Return to Bitcoin City

Last Friday, one of our members was asked to speak about Internet of Coins at the Dutch Arnhem Bitcoin City meetup. The night was a blast! We have had a lot of positive reactions and people joining the community.

Our API refreshed and rejuvenated

One of our developers has been busy making the API respond in a more humane way to requests. After someone queries the API it returns a helpful message instead of an error code that no human understands.

Website overhaul coming up

As you may have noticed, our website hasn't had a large update since the crowdfund ended. Most of the team's effort has been put into development for the Internet of Coins client.

To support our wallet beta release, our marketing team is currently working on a new website. The new site will be designed to better match the vision of Internet of Coins with our online presence. It will be a lot faster, cleaner and will provide easy access to the wallet. We will keep you informed on when to expect the overhaul!

Water cooler chat

Join our virtual water cooler chat channel on Riot! For those working on Internet of Coins abroad, we have created a channel to keep more informally in touch. Everyone will be sharing music to keep everyone motivated and energized.

We hope you feel welcome to listen in on the Riot channel. Loads of different music, different genres, so be prepared!

Preparing for takeoff: via Arnhem Bitcoin City to Gent

16 Dec 2014 / CodaSiren

Heads up! Since our last post we have worked hard on our whitepaper and the decentralized alpha. We will make sure to upload samples to our GitHub before and during the launch period to provide everyone further insight into the project. In the meantime we have been introducing Internet of Coins to the world.

We were invited by BitKassa to explain the workings of our system at the Arnhem Bitcoin City event at the end of November. The night was fun and it was good to see so many diverse crypto-enthusiasts. A report of the event can be found at BitPost, including an interview with us. During that week, lead developer Joachim was also interviewed at talkshow 'The week of Bitcoin'. You can watch the (Dutch) vodcast here.

After another visit to one of our regular Amsterdam meetups we decided to go virtual at the Crypto Money Expo. We had a few laughs with visitors at our booth and received positive feedback from the viewers at the online Q&A presentation. Good to see one of our supporters from NXT as well. All in all a good test for our visit to the Virtual Bitcoin Expo in January.

During our visit to Brussels in October we got in touch with regulars from the Gent Bitcoin Meetup. I paid them a visit the 6th of December and Internet of Coins actually became the first presentation at this amusing Flemish gathering. The Belgian beers were a delight! Kudos to the guys from Anycoin Direct for sharing a ride back to the Netherlands.

Between the work we've read up on current developments. Next to OpenBazaar we are pleased to see other decentralized open source initiatives such as Bitmarkets emerge as an option to exchange goods and services. Just like Bitmarkets, our client will natively support anonymous usage via networks such as Tor or I2P.

As you may notice we have been quite busy, with more conferences coming up in Germany and the United Kingdom. I am glad to announce that our next blogpost will include... (insert drumroll) the whitepaper. Stay tuned!

Taking the Internet of Coins into Europe

16 Oct 2014 / CodaSiren

Time for an update! First of all, say hello to some new faces on our Team page. Systems architect Amadeus and mathematician Jelle have joined our cause for integrating digital value systems. Now that we are growing, it is time to give the cryptosphere a peek at what we're doing. So we are taking the Internet of Coins to new places.

First off, we will be presenting the Internet of Coins this Friday the 17th of October at the start-up show of the Bitcoin 2 Business event in Brussels. Next will be the Ethereum & Bitcoin meetup, November 4th in Amsterdam. Wednesday November 5th (remember, remember...) we will be present at Bitcoin Wednesday Amsterdam. November 28th we will be visiting Arnhem Bitcoin City. Also, this week we received confirmation that we can take part in the Virtual Bitcoin Expo in January where we will be showing where we are heading in our developments. Take a look, visiting the virtual event is free. Interested in what we are doing, but not around at one of these events? Feel free to contact us.
